Sunburst supports green products, designs, and buildings. We show our commitment by reusing our materials whenever it’s feasible. We recycle water that cools down parts when they come out of ovens. We reuse packaging supplies. We reuse shutter fragments – or regrind them and turn them into new shutters. We end up recycling hundreds of tons of materials each year.

When we package our window treatments to be transported to your house for installation, we insert reusable corner pieces on the sides of the louvers and use as little cardboard as possible to package the shutters.

Our plantation shutters are coated with patented paints that are hypoallergenic and environmentally safe. In our manufacturing process, none of our paints give off fumes. When we declare our paints aren’t toxic, we mean it.

If you ever decide to change your window treatment styles, we have a shutter recycling program in Indianapolis to keep Polywood shutters out of landfills. What you have to do is simply remove the shutters at your own expense, and contact our store manager at 317-558-9066 to set up a pick-up. We will take your shutters and reuse some part of them in future Polywood shutters. This applies to Polywood shutters only—we don’t offer recycling for other shutter brands.
