Highlighting Our Spring Share Your Shutters Winner

Bill Burke

We’re moving through springtime here in Indianapolis, but don’t think we forgot about our regularly scheduled Share Your Shutters contest. Our latest winner is Tonya S., who shared some photos of her new shutters that really show off some great design choices.

plantation shutters in dining room

Tonya’s house features some beautiful new Polywood® plantation shutters in her dining room. Because her shutters are closed, you can really get a glimpse of how much control plantation shutters really give you over your lighting. Imagine that dining room with some softer lighting; it would be a picture-perfect setting for a romantic candlelit dinner, right? With the right shutters in your home like Tonya has, you can capture that exact mood regardless of what it’s like outside.

Also of note is how the white shutters perfectly match the white trim on the baseboard as well as the white ceiling. Those matching neutrals make the black table and the hardwood floor’s natural color shine even more.

That wasn’t Tonya’s only photo submission, however. Below is another photo she submitted of her new sliding barn door shutter!

wood barn door shutter

We love this barn door shutter for a number of reasons. First off, it looks fantastic. The homespun aesthetic of the wood paneling with that modern black sliding track above give a timeless yet relaxed look. What we love even more than the looks is the practicality of the shutter. Her barn door shutter sits on the front of the window frame, so it can effectively block light while still letting the window easily open and shut.

Because the shutter sits outside the frame, Tonya can still make use of that deep window jamb, too. As an example, if she wanted to set some flowers on the sill to get sunlight, she could even close the shutter so it can soak up some rays while keeping her home as dim or bright as she wants.

Tonya tells us that this is the third time she’s chosen window treatments from Sunburst Shutters, and we want to thank her for her continued support in choosing us for all her window treatment needs. For being picked as our Share Your Shutters feature this time, Tonya will get a $100 gift card to a local restaurant.

Think your shutters should be featured here? We want to see them! Share a photo of your home featuring your shutters using the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or submit a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to show off some shutters from a Hoosier next time!

Or if Tonya’s photos make you think your house is missing something, we want to help. Call 317-558-9066 today to talk to one of Sunburst Shutters Indianapolis’s window design experts to get started.
